This painting was a gift for my new Mother-in-law and I am pleased to say she really liked this portrait of her pet. This is my first painting signed as Lindy Clarkson.

Rosebud

I wanted to paint something for my special friend Susan Adams-Bentley in the USA. Because we share a love of cats, it was natural to choose her beloved cat “Rosebud” as a subject. I used all of Susan’s favourite things in the design of this painting, and was thrilled that she really loved the finished gift.

Symphony Zhostovo

“Symphony” Zhostovo tray (detail)

Here is one of my early Zhostovo creations, and although I do not often paint in this particular colour scheme, I have always loved this piece.

Strokework Flatbrush Roses

This is THE flower I always wanted to learn to paint and I spent many hours of patient practice trying to master this most beautiful and challenging of flowers. These days I can “paint them in my sleep” and many people recognize my own unique flatbrush rose.

Kitchen Notes

I wanted to paint a peaceful and relaxing scene on this piece, and when I sat down to draw something up, the swans and gardens just “came” to me....

Now available as pattern #139 on Products page 3.

Kitchen Notes

Every few months I seem to get the urge to paint fruit and vegetables, though I don’t find them the easiest subjects! I painted this one several years ago and I still enjoy looking at it. I hope you do too!

Golden Whistlers and Cassia Fistula

I came up with this design when I wanted to paint something on a smoked background. I had not painted birds before, but I loved painting this. The birds and flowers are native to Australia.

Now available as pattern #126 on Products page 3.

This was my 2003 Christmas project, painted with a sepia undercoat in acrylics to establish shadows and highlights then finished in beautiful oil paints.

I loved this design and painted it in oils just for me.
